Hedge funds and private- Equity (Équité) - a common share or other security which provides a return to its holder which fluctuates in proportion to the dividends which the issuer pays to the holders out of the profits of the issuer. In the liquidation of the issuer the holders of the equity are generally paid last. See in general the section Equity – General.
